With an amazing walk, in a few minutes you can reach the historic center of Milan, in Piazza Duomo, passing by the Columns of San Lorenzo (located just below the house and archaeological site consisting of 16 marble columns next to the remains of an amphitheater , of the baths, and dominated by the bronze statue of Emperor Constantine) along the Carrobbio and via Torino, among shops, boutiques, artisan shops and restaurants that follow one after the other.
The entire area, from the Columns of San Lorenzo to the Navigli, is today the meeting point of Milanesi and tourists, where everybody walks surrounded by greenery, shops for every pocket and fun. The walking starts from the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore to the whole area of the Navigli, where the Darsena (ancient port and meeting point between the Naviglio Pavese and the Naviglio Grande), entirely renovated for the Expo 2015, represents a crowded and amazing area where to stay. Thanks to this intervention, which makes the old Milanese waterway network famous all over the world, the Darsena is back to be the historical and symbolic place of Milan. the Milano Porta Garibaldi station (and new Porta Nuova district) in 25 minutes by metro M2,
the San Siro stadium in 30 minutes, with the M1-M5 underground,
Milano Cadorna FN station in 20 minutes, by bus 94.
Just below the house are the stops of the tramway line 3, both in the direction of Duomo (where the red metro lines M1 and M3 cross), and towards the Navigli. Moreover there is (in Piazza XXIV Maggio) also the tram number 9, which connects the railway stations Milano Centrale and Porta Genova.
To complete the connections you can find the buses of the line 94 (which leads to piazzale Cadorna, where they cross the green metro lines M2 and red M1, in addition to the Malpensa Express trains that every half hour connect with the airport of Malpensa): this bus line runs across the ring that encloses the historic center, in the past bounded by the canal and now all covered.
